Be Still Podcast Episode 2

Be Still — Episode 2
[COLD OPEN]
The heavens declare the glory of God. The expanse shows his handiwork. Day after day they pour out speech, and night after night they display knowledge. (Psalm 19:1–2)
[THE NARRATIVE]
Last time, we began at the very start: light, called out of darkness, on the first day. We continue where we left off.
God said, "Let there be an expanse in the middle of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters." … There was evening and there was morning, a second day.
God said, "Let the waters under the sky be gathered together to one place, and let the dry land appear," and it was so… God saw that it was good.
God said, "Let there be lights in the sky to divide the day from the night… and let them be for lights in the sky's expanse to give light on the earth," and it was so… God saw that it was good.
God said, "Let the waters swarm with swarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth in the open expanse of sky"… God saw that it was good.
God said, "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion… over all the earth." God created man in his own image. In the image of God he created him; male and female he created them… God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good.
The heavens and the earth, and all their vast array were finished. On the seventh day God finished his work which he had done, and he rested… God blessed the seventh day, and made it holy, because he rested in it from all his work. (Genesis 1:6–2:3, abridged)

[SILENCE]
[THE INVITATION TO THE TABLE] (fixed every episode)
When he had given thanks, he broke it and said, "Take, eat. This is my body, which is broken for you. Do this in memory of me." In the same way he also took the cup after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink, in memory of me." For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes. (1 Corinthians 11:24–26)
[CLOSING BLESSING] (fixed every episode)
The LORD bless you, and keep you. The LORD make his face to shine on you, and be gracious to you. The LORD lift up his face towards you, and give you peace. (Numbers 6:24–26)
