Be Still — Episode 1
[COLD OPEN]
The heavens declare the glory of God. The expanse shows his handiwork. Day after day they pour out speech, and night after night they display knowledge. (Psalm 19:1–2)
[THE NARRATIVE]
We begin where the story itself begins.
In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and empty. Darkness was on the surface of the deep and God's Spirit was hovering over the surface of the waters.
God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. God saw the light, and saw that it was good. God divided the light from the darkness. God called the light "day," and the darkness he called "night." There was evening and there was morning, the first day. (Genesis 1:1–5)
[SILENCE]
[BE STILL] (fixed every episode)
He makes wars cease to the end of the earth.
"Be still, and know that I am God." (Psalm 46:9–10)
[SILENCE]
[THE INVITATION TO THE TABLE] (fixed every episode)
When he had given thanks, he broke it and said, "Take, eat. This is my body, which is broken for you. Do this in memory of me." In the same way he also took the cup after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink, in memory of me." For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes. (1 Corinthians 11:24–26)
[CLOSING BLESSING] (fixed every episode)
The LORD bless you, and keep you. The LORD make his face to shine on you, and be gracious to you. The LORD lift up his face towards you, and give you peace. (Numbers 6:24–26)
