Happy Summer Holidays!

​As we hit week 24, the pace of life feels a little different. Whether it’s the shift into summer mode or the gentle routine of daily life, there is always something to celebrate. This week has been a unique mix of digital reflection, sensory grounding, and some much-needed travel time.

​Here is a look at what I’ve been up to for this week’s Mencap Gateway Bronze Award progress.

​🌿 Fitness: A Moment in Nature

​Even when the schedule gets busy, there is immense value in simply stepping outside. This week’s focus was a Nature Walk, a perfect way to clear the mind and get moving.​

​✍️ Hobby: The Digital Parish

​My commitment to The Digital Parish and Prayer remains a cornerstone of my week.

  • ​Activity: I have continued my practice of prayer. 
  • ​Reflection: Documenting reflections on this blog has been a rewarding way to process my thoughts and keep a record of my spiritual journey. It remains a peaceful anchor. 

​🧠 Lifestyle: Sensory Regulation & Advocacy

​Managing my day-to-day well-being is an ongoing practice, but I’ve found a great rhythm using the following tools:

  • ​Sensory Regulation: I’m continuing to use my Squiggle Society and other art supplies and fidgets to keep myself regulated. Incorporating sensory snacks into my day has made a world of difference in staying balanced.
  • ​Advocacy: My advocacy work continues behind the scenes. 
  • ​Routine: The Finch app remains my go-to companion for keeping track of my daily habits and routines.

​🚗 Life Update: Road Trip Reflections

​The highlight of this week was definitely the family time. We’ve been down in Cornwall visiting my wife Sarah’s family. There is something truly restorative about getting away and connecting with loved ones. We are currently on the road back. I'm tired but happy to have had some lovely times.

Describe your take on the Charlie Kirk murder: I have held off judgement as whatever happens he was human and I refuse to speak ill of any dead. I agreed with him on some things and strongly disagreed on other things. I will let God be his judge, not me.  None the less I always have questions: Was it weird Netanyahu said it wasn't him?  Why this one killing got so much attention when it is daily, even hourly in the USA?  What's in the files?  Why wasn't the flags even at half mast for the senators murdered only months before for example?  Thoughts about the service I admittedlly only saw bits of:  Horst Wessel effect? Pyrotechnic show? Political rally?  Were some people just acting?  Mega church concert? Instead, heaven's King rode in on a borrowed donkey — not with a sword drawn, but with arms open wide. This was no political revolution dressed in armor; it was a divine rescue mission wrapped in humility.
