A Quiet Season: Starting a New Rhythm

Hello everyone,
As the air starts to cool and the seasons begin to shift, I've been thinking a lot about pace. Life has a way of speeding up, and sometimes I find myself craving a quieter, more intentional rhythm—a way to focus on the small, meaningful things that bring a bit of peace to daily life.

Lately, I've been reflecting on completing my Bronze Mencap Gateway Award. Earning that award gave me such a positive, structured way to focus on personal goals, and it really inspired me to keep that gentle momentum going in my own life.

So, rather than stopping there, I've decided to design a personal, self-paced challenge for this autumn. There are no rigid school-style rules or high-pressure targets—just a few simple daily and weekly rhythms to keep me grounded over the next few months.

Here is what I'm inviting into my routine for this autumn season:

🍂 Walking with Intention
Taking time to get outside, notice the changing leaves, and quietly log my walks using a simple tracker called MossMug. No rush, no distance to prove—just fresh air and observation.

📖 Small Daily Learning
Keeping my brain ticking over with a few minutes of daily Gaelic practice on Duolingo.

🎙️ Voice and Reflection
Recording a series of quiet podcast liturgies, weaving together faith, peace, and reflection. Using this blog as a digital scrapbook to share thoughts, poetry, and updates as I go along.

🌿 Calm Time
Doing calm zone things such as virtual popping of bubbles, a virtual Zen garden, or breathing exercises. I will use the Neuro Bloom app.

I'm treating this entire chapter as a quiet experiment in slow living and creativity. At the end of the season, I may even order a simple, custom wooden keepsake to sit on my shelf—a small physical marker, much like my Mencap award, to remind me of the rhythm I built during these autumn months.

If you're also carving out a little bit of quiet space for yourself this season, I'd love to hear how you're doing it.
Here's to a peaceful, steady start to autumn.
