Weekly Evidence Checklist: Week 19 Update 🌟Mencap Gateway Bronze Award

Welcome back to the weekly roundup! It’s Sunday, which means it is time for our quick 5-minute evidence check-in for the Mencap Gateway Bronze Award. I am officially at Week 19, and things are progressing beautifully across all sections.

Here is how the checklist is shaping up this week, along with some exciting new developments in nature connection and pioneering ministry.

1. Volunteering (Walk for Autism)

  • Status: Completed previously.
  • All evidence for this section has already been successfully logged and submitted!

2. Fitness (Nature Walk) & Prescribe Nature

  • Status: Active
  • Evidence:

  • This week's fitness and nature connection overlap beautifully. I've wrapped up Week 5 of the Prescribe Nature program at Newbattle Abbey College. It was another incredibly enriching week of nature-based activities. The outdoors continues to be a profound source of healing, grounding, and joy.

I have also been working on my own back garden.

3. Hobby: The Digital Parish & Daily Office

  • Status: Active
  • Activity: Prayer and documenting reflections right here on the blog.
  • This space continues to serve as my digital parish, anchoring my routine and giving me a creative outlet to share these reflections.

4. Personal Challenge

  • Status: Completed previously.
  • This section is fully finalized and previously submitted.

5. Lifestyle: Sensory, Advocacy & Routine

  • Status: Active
  • Activity: Managing daily regulation and keeping up with self-advocacy.

I am continuing to use the Finch app to keep my daily routines structured and on track. For sensory regulation, I've been leaning heavily on my Squiggle Society and other art supplies, fidget tools, and carefully planned sensory snacks to stay grounded.

On the advocacy front, this section also tracks my ongoing communications and administrative work with essential support systems, including the Health Visitor, Vocal, School, Social Security Scotland, Motability and other professionals. It has once again been a busy week.

πŸš€ Big News: The Muddy Church Walking Fellowship

In addition to the award progress, I’ve made a big decision regarding my pioneer ministry journey. I have decided to fully lean into my personal strengths, which has put me on a brand-new trail!

I am officially working to start a Muddy Church Walking Fellowship—combining a passion for faith, community, and the healing power of the great outdoors.

You can check out the vision, keep up with updates, or find out how to get involved on the brand-new landing page: Gorebridge Muddy Church.

Time to check off Week 19! See you next Sunday for the next 5-minute check-in.
