Steps, Keys & Small Mercies: Weekly Gateway Evidence Checklist · Week 10

A Sunday reflection on a week that moved — literally and figuratively.

Week 10 has been one of those weeks where everything seems to happen at once. Official Walk for Autism week kicked off, a new set of car keys changed hands, and somewhere in between all of that, life kept its ordinary rhythm of prayer, fidgets, and Finch check-ins. Here's how it all looked.

1 · Volunteering

Walk for Autism — Official Week Begins ๐Ÿฆถ

It's here! Official Walk for Autism week has started and the steps are happening. There's something quietly energising about knowing that every walk this week has a bigger purpose behind it — each one adds up, and each one counts toward something real.

2 · Fitness

Nature Walk

With Walk for Autism week in full swing, there have been lots of steps this week — and the nature walk element fits right in. Getting outside, moving through green spaces, and noticing the world around you is both exercise and medicine.

3 · Hobby

The Digital Parish & Daily Office

The Daily Office continues though admittedly finding it harder this week. I also continue to maintain this blog. And now also the ministry sites for

Simply Fellowship

4 · Personal Challenge

5 · Lifestyle — Sensory & Advocacy

A New Car, a Country Drive & the Ongoing Admin of Life

This week held something significant: the deposit went down and Lilianna's Motability vehicle was driven away. To mark it, a countryside drive out to Peebles — exactly the kind of outing a new car deserves. Open roads, hills, a bit of breathing room.

The old car is in the process of leaving too. Hopefully gone by Tuesday. There's always a particular kind of relief when something you've been waiting on finally starts moving.

On the sensory and regulation side, Squiggle Society art supplies, fidgets, and planned sensory snacks are all doing their job. The Finch app is keeping routines ticking along — gentle accountability, nothing overwhelming.

Advocacy work continues in the background: It's a lot of plates to keep spinning, but this week the Motability one landed well.

Week 10 done. Steps walked, keys collected, prayers said, forms submitted, snacks planned. That's the whole picture — and it's a good one.
