The Summary

The Church at the Crossroads Declaration is an urgent call for the global church to choose Jesus’ way of nonviolence over political militarism. Responding to the crisis in Gaza, the document repents for "theological scandals" that justify violence and rejects any ideology that values "ancient stones over the lives being buried beneath them." It demands an immediate ceasefire, the release of all hostages, and the recognition of every person—Palestinian and Israeli alike—as a precious "image-bearer of God." Ultimately, it challenges Christians to move past silence and prioritize "costly love" and human dignity over nationalistic security.

​The Devotion

Standing at a crossroads requires us to decide if our primary allegiance belongs to a kingdom of force or the Kingdom of God. Matthew 5:9 reminds us that the "children of God" are defined by their work as peacemakers, not by their ability to justify wrath. To follow Christ in a broken world is to see the divine worth in the "other" and to refuse the "us-versus-them" binaries that fuel hatred. Today, let us trade our indifference for a commitment to justice, trusting that the only way to truly honor God is to protect and love His living icons—our fellow human beings.

Happy Autism Acceptance Month!

Thanks to all who supported my walk for Autism Initiatives. My challenge was 80000 steps over 8 days. I managed over 123,385, including a team walk. My personal goal was £50 and I beat this goal well thanks to kind sponsors. As a team, No6 One Stop Shop raised £1,022 + £181.32 GiftAid. Our collective goal was £500. Walk for Autism Half Way

Today I joined a team from No6 One Stop Shop (Autism Initiatives) in Edinburgh for a walk. It was a lovely walk toward Inverleith Park near the Botanical Gardens and back again. It was nice seeing the swans and blowing the cob webs away. It did get a little cold due to the partial eclipse of the sun. Link here to todays  photo . What if we aren't the "goodies" after all?  What if propaganda from all sides of all conflicts reveals a darker truth?  There are no heroes only villains and their victims. Time to give up

Lent is often seen as a time of self-sacrifice, a time to give up something costly or even a pet sin that needs laid upon the proverbial altar and put to death. I have been thinking what I could give up this year.  I have tried a few things over the years, from turning vegetarian to ditching social media, with varied success.  Pondering what is toxic for me at this time and what needs given up during lent and even beyond has brought various ideas.  I have seen various no yell challenges on parenting blogs and I do feel that would help on some level. But, even deeper than that is something I have struggled with more and more, anger.  It is not wrong to be angry as such. Jesus was pretty angry when he flipped those tables. But, it is wrong to sin in anger or to be angry unjustly. God is slow to anger and rich in mercy, we should imitate that. I want to be better at that for sure. Describe your take on the Charlie Kirk murder: I have held off judgement as whatever happens he was human and I refuse to speak ill of any dead. I agreed with him on some things and strongly disagreed on other things. I will let God be his judge, not me.  None the less I always have questions: Was it weird Netanyahu said it wasn't him?  Why this one killing got so much attention when it is daily, even hourly in the USA?  What's in the files?  Why wasn't the flags even at half mast for the senators murdered only months before for example?  Thoughts about the service I admittedlly only saw bits of:  Horst Wessel effect? Pyrotechnic show? Political rally?  Were some people just acting?  Mega church concert?
